Choirs like to go places and sing. Folk songs are seasoned travelers and a good one will even provide the transportation, taking its singers to other worlds and eras in a way that no tour bus can.

The young singers on this record have all traveled by folk song for many years, to many musically powerful places. In September 1997 we came together as a studio ensemble to record two CDs of my folk choir music, Hymnody of Earth and Pleasure. The Ooolites were born. Their sound is extraordinarily fresh and engaging, transporting my music to places I’d only dreamed about.
