How many singers are singing or studying this score? Our business relies on the purchase of one original score per voicing and a licensed copy for each singerโas well as the purchase of additional licenses in the future when more copies are made. (For example: For a 30-voice choir, you would buy a license to make 30 copies.) You may also discover from Dalglish recordings that we encourage creative and fresh performance ideas. Go for it!

Traditional Greek Folk Song
Dedicated to the Indianapolis Childrenโs Choir, Henry H. Leck, Founder and Music Director
โThe Kalanta of The New Yearโ (โSt. Basilโs Hymnโ) is a very popular Greek new years carol. I was told that children there will sing this song bright and early on New Years day to their parents and neighbors, singing the song over and over until they are paid to stop. I wrote an English verse describing children singing in the streets door to door a tradition best described as part Christmas Caroling, part Halloween trick-or-treating. The children usually accompany themselves with noisemakers or percussion. Finger cymbals, triangle, Tambourine, frame drum as well as other small hand percussion would be very appropriate.
